Khepri

Hatched in the lightning farm, Khepri says little of his past, though that may be because he was quite young when he left. The very young dragon made his way to the tsunami flats, where he rested for a while on the edge. Galene happened upon him the young, lost, wandering dragon and brought him back. She helped clean up and take care of the rather bedraggled dragon, who soon was just as healthy and hale as ever.

Khepri started tinkering with things and building mechanical devices as soon as he was clean and healthy, using whatever he could find. He's now taken to following Guraskelon (who forges things for the clan) around and convincing the latter to help him by giving him bits of metal and occasionally making parts for him. He's also gotten quite good at using shells, sea plants, and other readily available materials for his inventions.

Secretly, Khepri aspires to create a harvester for lightning, like the one he saw and heard of as a very young hatchling, only smaller, and maybe even use the lightning to power some of his creations, though he knows that the water will pose a challenge--he doesn't want to run lightning through the whole sea.

Though many of the other dragons are somewhat bewildered by his passion for tinkering, engineering, and creating devices, they are rather fond of him and sometimes even get devices from him that are helpful.

Not long after he grew to adulthood, Khepri started visiting the Clan of the Spire Ward and the other allied clan in Arcane territory frequently. Some of the devices Kehpri has created are largely based on schematics those two lairs shared with him, and when things began to go south before the Disaster, Khepri started to make some more designs.

Among some of Khepri's most helpful devices to date are the updated steampunk wings he collaborated with Meltemera and Guraskelon to make. Both dragons with disabilities, and dragons who routinely fly great distances (or in very difficult environments) make frequent use of them. A few pairs are communal, but most of them are custom fitted. Depending on the element of the dragon, Khepri uses different strategies to get them to work. For himself, he uses Coppercoil Creeper leg segments to power the wings, as their uncontrollable twitching when near a lightning dragon can easily be restrained and harnessed.

When the emperor arose, Khepri helped the team from the allied clan in the preparation of traps.
