Biography

2nd Gen
Gin was a member of Clan Kairi in The Scarred Wasteland until 5/23/15.
His parents, both First Gen Lightning Guardians, opted to join the Stormcatcher long ago. All of his siblings - both full and half - opted to join deities as well. Gin, however, stayed to find his Charge. He left his birth clan at an early age to start his Search and wandered to a Wind clan, where he hatched one nest of four eggs with Caelina, a feisty Ice Mirror. She only wanted to hatch one nest with him, however, before choosing to have a nest with a Tundra and then going to serve her clan's deity, the Windsinger. All of their children also chose to honor the deities, as did their grandchildren with the exception of two currently residing in Shadow clans. A number of their grandchildren, however, opted to have offspring of their own first so there are great grandchildren out there continuing the family lines.
Before long, the lack of a Charge made Gin restless and he left the Windsinger's land to join a clan residing in the Lesser Lair of the Wandering Contagion. He chose to remain alone and aloof, awaiting the day he found his Charge. To pass away time, he did some training in the Coliseum, reaching Lvl 13, and served as a laborer for the clan. Surely this clan would bring him one step closer to finding the meaning of his life, his purpose for being, his Charge.
It was not to be. The clan, made up of many older, experienced dragons, never really worked together well and did not flourish in the Plaguelands. Perhaps too many of them were from other lands. Perhaps their leadership was to blame. Perhaps it was simply destiny come calling. In any case, their leader, an Arcane dragon named Verin, decided that there was no point for them to remain together. On the 23rd day of the fifth month of 2015, he called together his Elder dragons and advised them that they all needed to find new homes immediately.
Shocked and disoriented and starving, the dragons had nowhere to go. A number of them banded together to journey in search of new clans, while a few opted to go off alone and take their chances in the world. The group traveling together (Gin, Seira, Isis, Melasune, Etra, and Gaia) found refuge in Clan Diamond Dust, an Ice clan that harbored Elder dragons. The clan leaders there were a bit perplexed to have so many dragons seek shelter in clan at once. A few dragons staying with Clan Diamond Dust for the clan's training program were asked to leave immediately to accommodate the band of homeless dragons. Fortunately, they cheerfully went to serve the Icewarden, knowing their spaces were going to a good cause.
While Clan Diamond Dust welcomed them with open arms, a few of the dragons knew that they were only staying there temporarily -- they still needed to find another clan to call their own. Gin was one of the dragons who planned to continue the journey to a new home. When he landed in the Fortress of Ends, he immediately knew his Charge wasn't there. He felt an obligation to help his former clan mates settle in their new surroundings, but his Search had to continue until he found his Charge.
~
On 6/20/15, Gin felt compelled to leave Clan Diamond Dust. Something - or someone - was pulling him back to The Shifting Expanse, his homeland. He said good-bye to his remaining former Plague clanmates - Melasune and Etra seemed pretty set on staying the icefields for now - and took to the skies. Perhaps he would finally find what he was searching for there.
