Sobriquet: Sir/Sensei Ryuu; Akai Occupation: Retired Warrior; Second in Command for the clan Battle Style: Offensive Relations: - Highly regards and is closest with Coleus - Often drinks tea with Kai - Discusses the clan's well-being with Apollo - Pachel is his ex-lover - Hesitantly fancies Lavan - Uncle of the twins, Vike and Kiado - Is highly regarded by all of the clan members as the First Warrior and the Second-In-Command Notes: - AkaiRyuu is one of the first dragons to have joined Aeolia. - When Coleus was on his way back to the Winds after his journey through the other elemental plains, he stumbled upon a regiment of Southern Icefield dragons who were training to be warriors for their clan. AkaiRyuu, being one of these trainees himself, was the first to befriend Aeolia's future leader and welcomed him into staying, if he wished as much. After spending a month or so with the warriors to better grasp the art of battle, Coleus privately invited Akai to return to the Winds to be his Second-In-Command. AkaiRyuu accepted his invitation and became the first member of Aeolia. - When the war of the Winds struck and AkaiRyuu was tested on his warrior capabilities, he led the members of the Royal Guard with all the courage and camaraderie a man could muster. For all seven years of the war, Akai fought passionately and sustained multiple wounds, eventually ruining his legs because of his stubbornness to continue fighting without letting them properly heal. Because of this, Akai retired from the Royal Guard and battling as a whole once peace had settled again in the Winds, for the scars in his legs left him with a permanent limp. - Akai is incredibly compassionate towards his fellow clan members. He has seen what hate and separation can cause in his time with the Royal Guard, so he tries his best to be—at the very least—attentive to those who seek for companionship or wisdom. He has taken up himself nowadays to be a mentor of sorts, to those who wish to know the art of battling and the importance of companionship. - He spends most of his day making rounds to speak with everyone - AkaiRyuu and Pachel were romantically involved near the beginning of Aeolia's creation, but decided to mutually end their relationship right before the start of THE 7 YEARS OF RELENTLESS WIND. As AkaiRyuu was the leader of The Royal Guard and would be fighting in the war until its end or his own end, he decided it would be better if went into the war with no lingering attachments, in case the worst were to happen. Not wanting to be a burden to him, Pachel agreed, believing that they would be together again after the war was won. However, after having suffered from wounds that scarred him physically and mentally during his years at war, AkaiRyuu could not find it in himself to fall back into the normality of their relationship, and thus ended their romance for good. - Though there are times where he wonders what would have been had they stayed together, he tries to push those thoughts away because he doesn't feel that he's worthy of having them. He was the one who called it completely off, after all, and his heart was the one that had wandered during the war, as he found himself becoming romantically affectionate towards Knight Lavan after seven long years of fighting together. - Akai is the uncle of his younger sister's twin sons, Vike and Kiado. The two showed up in Aeolia unannounced one day, and have since stayed in the land as successful barkeeps of their tavern, "The Dragon's Flagon". He is fond of them both, despite being resigned to the fact that no amount of scolding will withhold their pranking tendencies. - Max, his familiar, was a departing present given to him by his mentor while he was still training with the Southern Icefield regiment of warriors; the two have an incredibly strong bond. - Forged generations ago by his late ancestors, the Valkyrie blade has been passed down throughout his family's lineage since then - Fourth Wall Theme Song: Aoi Teshima - Teru no Uta THE ROSE COURT:The Kings's entrusted advisory group. A choice few dragons who have been bestowed the greatest honor as the King's closest advisors. Those who wear the Rose Tangles are considered "Grand Advisors" for their efforts and service to the King before the war. Those who wear the Rose Collars, are considered "Envoy Advisors" for their service as entrusted Aeolia representatives in extended territories. Currently, AkaiRyuu, Pachel, Apollo, and Anthos are the four dragons that hold these positions. - The ceremonial process of receiving the Rose Tangles is incredibly painful and tedious. The thorns are imbedded into the skin and enchanted to remain there until the wearer's passing. Once the enchantment is sealed, the Rose Tangles take on a tattoo-esque appearance, therefore causing the wearer no proceeding discomfort. This is the most respected ceremony that can take place in Aeolia (only under the King's coronation). |
