Biography

The Guardian stared at the small form vanishing into the trees.

"Before nightfall, certainly. But after you've had something to eat."

He looked around him at the assembled clan and nodded politely before rising to his feet.

"I wonder," he mused aloud, "if you understand what a trial it is to have another dragon as your Charge?"

Yoldi looked over at Anthrew, who was peering curiously after the strange Spiral.

"I do," she replied with a faint smile.

"Well," the Guardian replied, "I apologize for the intrusion. My name is Marion, that was Reseda, and if I don't catch up with her now she'll likely do something . . . unwise."

With that he pounded after the vanished dragon. As the remainder of the clan dispersed, Anthrew ambled up to Yoldi.

"Dear," he said, "Does that boy really intend to go up against two Ridgebacks on his own?"

"I believe he does," she replied, "and I also believe he'll win."
