Lucid Tremble was originally one of the Jongleur’s wide slew of acrobats, and although no-one can deny the beauty of his voice, he remains only passionately mediocre at the lute. He and Thaumas have been friends for years, and Lucid’s loopy energy and unselfconscious exhibitionism brings his spacey companion out of his daydreams. However, Grimilkin’s faint hope that the two would assume some responsibility died quite quickly. The singer only supplements Thaumas's eccentricity.

This is because Lucid, as any of his fellow dancers could tell you, is a bit of a loony. I mean, his nightmare companion isn't necessarily helping, but the poor fellow was already a bit off in the head before his dear Nephrit came along. All Nightmares affect their hosts differently, and despite Nephrit's vaguely sinister nature, it and Lucid get along swimmingly, both being creatures of tall tales, loopy dispositions, and little lucidity. Lucid loves the hazy, colorful state of madness – and Nephrit can provide.

Lucid's increasingly obsessed devotion to his tiny chameleon companion might be worrying to some – but he was always fond of his pets... And with such a willing subject of study, Thaumas isn't about to tell Grimilkin of Lucid's 'little problem' any time soon.
