Biography
Anna Maria della Pieta
"The monarchy kind of sucks, don't it?"
"Aye, what's some fancyfin in a castle hundreds of miles away got to do with me, I ask you?"
"Every yeah, more taxes, less action. If I'm paying taxes, I want them to at least fix the gaping sinkhole in the road. Produce cart's fallen in I don't know how many times, and then there goes all my cabbages, don't they?"
"It's all these wars all the time. Dang counterproductive, that. They fight so they can make more money, but they spend far more in the process."
"It's not good for the likes of us, that's for sure. Someone's gotta fix that sinkhole."
It was sentiments like these that lead the good townspeople of Marketfield to instate a new form of local government, one that granted all citizens the opportunity to voice their opinions and participate in decision-making equally. And to accomplish this, they turned to Anna, the oldest dragon in town and de facto town leader. Anna was all too happy to help in the development of a new town constitution - she really preferred to be left alone to enjoy her retirement in peace, to be honest - and she was less happy when the overeager citizens of Marketfield elected her as mayor...again...and again...and again. Still, she does her best to serve the needs of the townspeople and preside fairly over the court.
