Rigel was formerly part of a wandering band of rogues that consisted of her, Betelgeuse and Alnitak. The three of them had been together some time, operating with their own level of morality and taking what they believed belonged to them or they needed to survive. As a wind dragon, Rigel loved the traveling; it was place to place, ever moving - exploring places that didn't seem to be even marked on maps. The three of them had come from different places. Betelgeuse had been scooped off the ground in the Viridian Labyrinth - Rigel had decided to bring the miserable young Coatl along because he was pretty. She already had Alnitak then, as the two of them had been forced to share a boat while crossing the Sea of a Thousand Currents to the land governed by the Lightweaver. She was going to look for treasure, and well, she still doesn't know what he was originally going for but whatever it was could not have been as interesting as treasure as he simply decided to drop what he was doing for the thrill of adventure - or something. Rigel herself was a wind dragon. Her grandfather was too, if the tales were true. He did not know of her, or any of his children, which seemed a little ridiculous - but it could not hurt to indulge in fantasy and believe she was indeed part of a noble line; it was her mother that claimed to be his daughter, born in a clan that claimed to be of Arcane but was living in the Southern Icefield when she was born - Rigel had no idea where they were now, for her mother had left and settled with a wind clan and then sometime later she had come along. She always had an eye for beauty. When they became the trio when Betelgeuse was dragged along, the nature dragon made them all flower crowns and they raided an armour facility in the Ashfall Waste for some protective gear. Naturally, Rigel selected silver - for beauty, and the green did go with her eyes. She took Betelgeuse to nest a few times, because he was pretty, and she felt obligated to continue her line; she could not have loved him, even if she tried. A friend, perhaps, but his rage was tiresome. But who needed love when there was beauty? She travelled with her friends for some time, adopting a place named the Node as a base for operations, as the members there only had one cost for a place to sleep - stories. Rigel had plenty of those, as did her companions. They could trade their goods too, swap things they did not need for supplies of food or information. It was a good place, and she liked to sleep there once in a while, knowing she was warm and dry and well fed; a simple indulgence. It was at the Node that she left. She had informed Betelgeuse that they were to travel to the Starfall Isles in the morning, but when he and Alnitak awoke, she was gone. They found her silver filigree gauntlets in the Node's main hoard and a sizable dent left in the treasure reserves. |

Rigel had traveled back. Back to her original home, back to the place that she vaguely remembered from her early childhood. The coatl had retraced her flight patterns all the way back to the Windswept Plateau, and for a good long while, she stayed with a group of...colourful dragons who referred to themselves as the Fireworks Fraternity. Life was odd there, however. Nothing was anywhere near as serious as she was accustomed to, and the "Fireworksfolk" were a rowdy, excitable bunch, always hopped-up on sugar from these...odd macarons they ate day-in and day-out. It didn't take very long before she got tired of the nightly displays of fireworks, waking her from her restless sleep, and she was on the move again. She left no trace of herself behind but a few stray, iridescent feathers. |
