______ It is said that the name is the most important part of a dragon, and that it holds a grasp on that dragon for their entire life. The saying was created to bring value to a dragon’s name. That meaning was lost on Queen. Long ago she had cast off her name, leaving it behind along with the rest of her weakness, guilt and memories. Queen became dedicated to ruling her clan, and doing so left no room for such intricacies. Instead, the name “Queen” was more of a title than a name.

Queen controlled her clan with an iron fist. Criminals were punished harshly, but under Queen, the clan grew to be prosperous and successful, free of the internal warring and conflict found in many neighboring clans. Though she is the queen of the clan, she is not afraid to rush into battle. Queen believes in leaving the affairs of tactics and planning to more capable and accomplished dragons. During a bloody war, Queen is not one to hide behind the lives of her loyal subjects. Instead, she will be found leading the charge into the enemies.

Highly skilled in forms of martial arts, Queen is more than able to fend for herself. She considers herself to be very strong, and has proven herself to be a deadly leader. When Queen arrived at the clan, she was nameless. Just another dragon. But Queen had found the previous ruler to be incompetent and ineffectual. Deciding to take charge, Queen challenged the dragon for the throne. Because no dragon had ever bothered to challenge the queen before, the fight was hardly even. Queen emerged from the battle as the rightful monarch of the clan.

Immediately Queen began to change the clan. She eliminated the weak, frail dragons that wasted the clan’s resources, replacing them with the young, stronger dragons. She strengthened the building’s architecture, making them resilient and ornate. All the while, she defended her kingdom from invaders, making herself known for her regal brutality when protecting her clan. Despite this grim reputation, Queen is respected within her clan as a fair and just leader, always acting in the best interests of the clan.

From the crown of the last ruler she had overthrown, Queen crafted two beautiful, ornate daggers. The daggers were the size of a dragon’s forearm, and fit perfectly into Queen’s hand. This effect was created by Queen holding the mold in which the scorching, molten metal was poured. The effect left deep burn scars on Queen’s hands, but the pain was worth the benefit. Queen also had the daggers inlaid with powerful magic from the clan’s sorcerer, causing the daggers to glow red with heat and burn any dragon other than Queen to grasp the daggers. Deep veins ran through the blade of the dagger, lined with the blood of the fallen queen. Queen keeps these prized daggers on her person at all times, and will gracefully wield them in battle.

______ Though Queen’s preferred weapon of choice would be her magnificent daggers, she is also proficient in the use of other weapons. She is able to use a bow effectively, though she is rather uncomfortable with it, feeling that it is unbalanced and flimsy. Queen’s runner up weapon would be the short-sword. A large sword would be too heavy for Queen to use. Queen is more than capable of turning the tide of a war on her own once on the field. Fighting on a motto of “Take no prisoners”, Queen loses her royal, prestigious vibe, instead replaced by a fighting rage that leaves a trail havoc behind her.

Queen’s “leave no survivors” fighting style leaves very few dragons still alive, and those who survived often would have preferred to have died in the fighting. Often times Queen’s advisors must convince her to spare the prisoners so that they could be interrogated or simply imprisoned. The dragons would be sent to dark dungeons, littered with dead rats and filth from previous dragons. Queen would leave the dragons there to rot, only bringing them out into the daylight to either further interrogate them, or put them to death.

But the Queen was not always as hardened or stern as she is. During the early years of her dominion, Queen had found herself love. It came in the form of a hardy, bold dragon. There was something in that dragon that Queen saw. Some dragons believed it was his nature and how it clashed so well with the Queen, others believe that the Queen loved the dragon for his natural battle skill. Either way, the two dragons loved each other dearly. In due time, Queen nominated the dragon to the title of Prince Consort. She dearly wished that she could give him a higher rank, but she remained steadfast and dedicated to being the highest ranking dragon in the clan.

The Prince Consort and Queen had a great many children together. Both loved their children dearly, giving each one attention and holding large banquets to celebrate their hatching days. However each child of the Consort and Queen eventually left their parents. Some left because they were banished for their actions, others left voluntarily. However, each left to serve the Windsinger, and never coming back.

To leave the clan and serve another lord was deemed an extremely disgraceful act within the clan, and all of the Queen’s children doing so brought great shame to her. Eventually the shame became too great, and even the Prince Consort left the Queen. Rumors spread throughout the clan that he too left the Queen to serve the Windsinger. Meanwhile other dragons said that a scream was heard the night that the Consort disappeared, implying a much more ghastly theory. Queen has never stated exactly what the fate of the Prince Consort, instead keeping the secret to herself.

Regardless, after the Consort’s leave, Queen took a solemn vow to never find love again. The pain of the Consort leaving stayed with Queen for the rest of her life. Since then, Queen has become much more isolated and distant from her subjects. She only appears when she chooses to, though she still radiates power when she walks into a room. The Queen only allows her most trusted advisors to meet her.

Though she has become somewhat repressed, Queen still holds a firm grip on her clan. Ambitious, young dragons have challenged her to the throne, led by the false belief that she had grown weak and frail. She slaughtered them all. Queen remains on the throne, defending her rightful position as ruler, as well as defending her clan from invading forces. Queen has devoted herself completely to her clan, and will fight to her last breath to defend it.
