Biography

Riodem
Clan Representative, Trader of Goods
Mother: Colu
Adopted father: Marble

Colu's eldest son, a flamboyant fellow who has inherited his mother's love of jewelry and pretty fabrics. He is obsessed with pretty things and his own beauty, often picking flowers and polishing his gem-encrusted scales, in which he can lovingly gaze at his own reflection. Because his father abandoned him, he can be a little bitter and distrustful, and only truly opens up to a select few. He has spent a lot of time with Marati since she was born, and likes how friendly and non-judgmental she is. Though they are occasional mates, they don't take their relationship very seriously, and prefer to think of each other as good friends.

Because Riodem is so charming, confident, and sociable, he is the dragon most often called on to represent the clan to outsiders. He'll also occasionally take goods produced by the clan, such as jewelry and clothing made by his mother, or pretty gemstones and clay goods and figures made by the users of earth magic, into the trading post in town to sell or trade for goods. Because of this, he is the most worldly and knowledgeable of the outside world of any of the dragons who were born and raised in Pineseed's clan, and is sometimes called upon to give advice on matters which involve outsiders. Generally, though, he prefers to be left out of what he calls "clan politics".

Though Riodem is obsessed with his own appearance, that doesn't mean he doesn't care for others. He is very close to his mother and would do anything for her. He does, however, become surprisingly fierce and aggressive towards dragons he doesn't like. He is testy around Aurum, for example, for the way Aurum is dismissive towards his own little sister Marati. Marati tends to keep Riodem calm and grounded, however, so it's unlikely that a fight will break out any time soon.

Riodem is not very happy with his mother's new partner, Marble, who he finds annoying and pretentious. The two are quite vicious with each other when Colu is not around, but fortunately Colu is almost always around.
