Lady Moonsong of Clan Celes
Tales of Blue Dragon - Akatsuki no Yona
They fell apart as easily as leaves fall from the trees - in Autumn, on a cool October day. She barely remembers the argument - but it ended with him leaving, not just the clan but leaving her.
Eowyn was at her side constantly while she recovered from it - other dragons had lost mates, yes, but none so established as Moonsong and Moongaze. Her daughter would curl around Moonsong in her nest at night to keep her warm where Moongaze once had, fly beside her where Moongaze had, share meals that Moongaze once had.
It seemed like forever before Moonwing appeared. A handsome young dragon taken into the clan, his courteous manner and gentle nature appealed to many of the dragons in the clan - especially those around his own age, many of whom hoped the Spiritstone would choose them to be his mate.
But it chose Moonsong. At first, she was alarmed - she was so much older, and had children and grandchildren far, far older than him. Then she felt ashamed - who was she to become the mate of this wonderful young dragon that so many were so taken by? Moonwing must have been disappointed.
But he assured her he was not - she was, after all, one of the most beautiful dragons in the clan, and her soft-spoken, gentle demeanour matched his perfectly. Within time they became inseparable, and the wounds left by Moongaze healed.
