Zom

Not much is known about Zom, but it's clear that her strength is just what the clan needs in order to survive the plagued lands they live in. She only makes guttural noises and prefers to sleep during the day if she can, but when Rifal calls to her she'll come flying in with teeth gnashing - ready to rip out the throat of any who bother her new master.

A travelling artist approached the clan, offering to paint pictures to pay for her room and board while staying in the area. Zom was on guard duty at the time and it was hard to tell if she understood what the artist was after. Zom didn't turn her away though, so she opened a scroll case and pulled out a few finished example pieces.

Moira noticed someone trying to talk to Zom and rushed over. "An artist?" She asked as the outsider held up a painting for Zom to look at. "We don't have need of one, but you are welcome to stay for the night. I can show you to the temporary lodgings." The artist expressed her thanks and began putting the examples back in the scroll case.




A picture of a Pearlcatcher's face caught Moira's attention. The expression was far gentler than she'd ever seen on the face of her fighting companion, but there was no doubt it was a younger Zom! "That one... when you get settled in I would like to trade for it."

"This is just an old pose example like these two," the artist, not realizing the resemblance to Zom, held up two similarly sized pictures. In one a fae looked straight at the viewer. In the other the Guardian's head was angled some. "I didn't even paint these."

Moira was disappointed. Here she thought she would finally learn something about Zom's past. "I would still like to trade for it."

The artist shrugged and didn't pack the profile picture away.
