Greek God of the Mediterranean Sea
Keeps mostly to himself, his social skills could do with some sharpening. Even though he's with the fishing division, he doesn't help much as he prefers to use his diving skills for treasure hunting. Nereus likes to collect trinkets that he may find in the depths. His captain, Rivan, gave up trying to stop him from treasure hunting.
After his incident in stormy weather where Janaina, an even more skilled swimmer, saved him, Nereus felt indebted to her. He tried to present her with any valuables that he found, but she politely declined them. She told him that gifts aren't necessary and she's just happy that he's alive and healthy.
Nervous Nereus is never quite sure how to respond when she says things like that...even after being mates for quite some time. Any shells that he thinks are extremely beautiful, he brings them back to Janaina. She accepts the shells to tie into her cowl.
