"If only I could change the past..."

Many years ago, there was an egg. The egg soon hatched into a small dragoness named Irvene. As she came into this world, she was surrounded by curious eyes of dragons that did not look like herself; mirrors. Apparently they found her egg all deserted, and kept her warm in hopes of saving at least the hatchling.

Never having met her parents, Irvene was taken in by the mirror flock. She soon met a dragon about her age; Kaneki. The two became inseparable. Irvene was always a bit of a delicate, careful feminine dragoness, yet she liked her wild, playful friend. She was happy to be accepted for who she was by the flock.

She had everything going for her, but one day, everything changed. The mirror flock was attacked by an enormous group of beastclans. The elders told Kaneki and Irvene to hide. Which they did. Devastated, they had to watch how their outnumbered flock was slaughtered. Afterward the beastclans tried to take prisoners. Kaneki and Irvene were about to be found, and in an attempt to save Irvene, Kaneki sacrificed himself and told her to run and never look back.

Irvene fled with all the speed she could bring up. Although she was devastated by seeing her family die, and watching her best friend sacrificing himself. She wanted to stay, but she knew she wouldn't be of much help, and she didn't want to let his sacrifice go to waste. No, instead, she'd find help, she'd find dragons who'd hear her out and save Kaneki.

But help never came.

All dragons had heard about the fight with the beastclans, and they were too terrified to take them on. Irvene was on her own. Shocked, she promised herself that she'd save Kaneki. She casted aside her feminine side, and began training. She began training to be stronger, stealthier, and in general a dragon capable of saving Kaneki. Everyone mocked her, thinking such a delicate dragoness could never pull it off.

But she did. A long amount of time passed. Irvene was now a grown dragoness. She was fast, strong and stealthy, and left to free her friend. Which she eventually managed. How she did is unclear, she refuses to speak of the events that took place that day, but she was happy that she pulled it off.

Irvene took Kaneki with her. She had no place to go, but she knew they had to run from the beastclans. After some weeks, the two weren't in any condition to go on, and they collapsed. Only to be found by Behemoth a bit later. He took them both to Tali's lair, so Naga could heal them. They found a home in that place, and have been there ever since.

The worst part is however, that Kaneki became corrupted. Having been tortured for a long period of time, he wasn't the kind, playful dragon he used to be. He was a viscious, twisted killing machine, which saddened Irvene. She had her friend back, and at the same time, he wasn't back atall. Not to mention, she herself became an entirely different dragon. Was she still true to herself?

She eventually admitted to like Kaneki in more ways than just friendship, and the two became mates. She's the only one whom can somehow reach out to him.

As of current, Irvene fulfills her part as a lair member mostly by taking care of Kaneki, whom is too dangerous to be left with the other clan members, especially the hatchlings. She's still trying day by day to get her friend back the way he used to be. Due to her strength, she also aids in combat and other tasks that require fysical strength, although it isn't her favorite thing to do. She prefers to be in solitude, in a peaceful environment, watching the starry night sky.

She's named after a legend from the canary islands. Irvene is the name of a demon dog.
