Nobody quite remembers who it was who introduced Alina to diving - an old dragon, long since passed - but the clan often curses them for it. Once Alina discovered the natural pearls that lay in the ocean, she became obsessed by the idea of searching for them, determined to build the most extensive hoard of pearls she can. Although she still manages to focus on providing for the clan, her quest for pearls has often endangered her life.

Whilst the other seafaring dragons do their best to care for her and keep her safe below the water, she is unable to see the good in their actions and often withdraws if they push too much.
