Waves has a free soul that refuses to be tamed. The entire reason he joined the lair was because of Maple. He believes that they were meant to be, and though Maple acts slightly aloof all the time, he still likes her all the same. Waves was originally told to change his name when he first joined the lair, but, he adamantly refused, saying that it's the last reminder of his previous lair he has left. After hearing his reasoning, the clan decided to allow him to keep his name the way it was. Besides, it suits him. The waves at the beach are usually small, but when a big one comes around, it's huge and exciting, and is perfect for surfing. Waves is that one wave. He values his freedom very much. Also, he likes water, which gave him his job as a fisherman.
