Life is short, though I keep this from my children. Life is short, and I’ve shortened mine in a thousand delicious, ill-advised ways, a thousand deliciously ill-advised ways I’ll keep from my children. The world is at least fifty percent terrible, and that’s a conservative estimate, though I keep this from my children. For every bird there is a stone thrown at a bird. For every loved child, a child broken, bagged, sunk in a lake. Life is short and the world is at least half terrible, and for every kind stranger, there is one who would break you, though I keep this from my children. I am trying to sell them the world. Tale Brennan feels that there is nothing that people need more than good food; especially out in this neck of the woods, where folks are all too likely to be hard at work toiling in the fields, and where they need something hearty and homecooked to keep 'em going. Classically trained as a chef in a fine culinary establishment in Lanternlea Port, Brennan was sent out with some fellow employees on the hunt for rare ingredients, those of the fine and organic quality that can only be found right at the source. She found that source; but she also found Fairweather, and its hungry taverns full of appreciative tummies, different dishes and ways of preparation, and its willing dinners all the more delighted and appreciative than any snooty high-brow guest where she came from. She may not reside in the Shire forever. But for now, Brennan is learning, sharing her skills with Fairweather's own cooks, and putting smiles on dinner's faces. Traits Brennan is named for Brennan's, the New Orleans restaurant where Bananas Foster was first created. |
