It may be a side effect
From the spell in which I was conceived But with the green of my mother And the red of my brother I lay somewhere in between -by xdudettex (198786) |

Streak's name: Image
Born through the magic of the nest mage, Azili, Borderline is the daughter of the clan’s founders, from a nest laid on the anniversary of Avis Calvariam’s formation. Even if Kiala’s mate, Alaik, wasn't overly pleased with the idea - nest mage or no - the rest of the clan was. Especially Vin, as he would have a little sibling! The enchanted eggs, perfectly formed with swirls characteristic of Wind, would be the first nest hatched in the new nesting compartment of The Song Bird. But when the clan gathered to view the hatching dragons, they gasped. The female slithered out of her egg just as Povu and Flitter began shouting from the pilot's controls. Povu had navigated the airship out of the Crescendo and straight out of Wind territory while Flitter had left her in control. The newborn dragon that stared up at the assemblage did so through two different eyes. Her right was the predicted green of Wind, but her left shone crimson. Hatched as The Song Bird crossed the border between the two territories, and perhaps also as a side effect from the spell with which she was conceived, she herself had become a border. Her brother hatched a moment later, his eyes both red as blood. Incidentally, Image was the first of the clan to make his way into the Plaguebringer's ranks. Borderline has no trouble balancing between two vastly different elements. Though, having grown up in the Wasteland, Plague has always been in control of her stronger instincts. She works alongside Skrantsi in the care of the clan's flock of Streaks, and she's named her own after her strayed brother, Image.
Plague Days:
Much like her friend, Skrantsi, The Wasteland was all she ever knew. At first, the idea of leaving it was equal parts exciting and terrifying. Both places were her home, after all. Could she be truly happy in either one? Was she perhaps better off not knowing what she was missing in The Cloudsong? But watching helplessly as disease claimed her mother took away any apprehension she had left. The Wasteland, though charming in its way, was only suitable for those with the ability to survive its harsh terrain and sickened air. She misses her mother deeply, and has vowed never to return to the place that took her away.
The Cloudsong:
So, they made it. At first the Cloudsong seemed rather, well, boring. But then Onra set Dreamfyre and the clan's new acquaintance, Feldoh, on the mission to train every member of the crew to defend themselves and each other. As if that wasn't enough excitement, her good friend Teiran went missing, which launched the clan into a huge and distressingly fruitless search. And then Leaper and Puzzle came into existence. Oh, great Windsinger, give me strength.

gotw3's review:
That accentttttttttt. Speckle/Freckle/Underbelly has never not looked good, but she really works it. Her lore is very, very interesting, and I'd say that her description is the highlight of the dragon! It makes the Whirlwind Sash (which made me wince upon seeing it amid all those warm tones) much more palatable.
One critique: perhaps bleak birdskull would work better than the brown? I feel as if black would match her claws and tail tip, but brown clutters up her palette a little bit.
Review by Beatrizklotz (39314):
I love Borderline, and I don't know where to start. Her lore is on point, and I like how it covers the shift from plague to wind, as well as the history of the clan. The part about her having dual colored eyes is also very well thought out - we never see her other eye, so I 100% believe it to be wind green.
Her accent is amazing and goes well with her colors. And following your name, she has birdskull apparel! In a nice contrasting color that keeps her from ever being boring in her color scheme.

I loved Borderline’s bio – she’s really cool, and I love the concept for her character! I guess I’m sort of repeating myself when I say I liked reading her bio, but I really did – your dragons have so many interesting stories!! I really love how you carried her dual nature into her apparel too – her accent references her plague side, and it’s well balanced by the softer, wind-themed apparel (I especially like the bird).
