______ Rose tends the hatchlings of Bluebird's Roost. From the time that a hatchling arrives in Bluebird's Roost, whether they were hatched there or came from afar, she cares for them until they reach their adult growth or move on from the clan. She is nurturing, but full of all of the quiet steel necessary in supervising between seven and fifteen hatchlings simultaneously. Rose is often overlooked in clan politics, but as she had a hand in raising many of the clan's newer members, she is a highly respected dragon among the many dragons who remember her care.

______ Rose is also one of the few dragons at Bluebird's Roost that can read. She came to the clan with the ability, and since then has taught several of the clan's more prestigious and ambitious members, such as the messenger Mango, her own mate Ghost, and Bluebird herself. She even began to teach the bloodwitch Sakura, although Sakura quickly decided that the skill was not for her after all, and lost interest. She has started teaching some of the hatchlings their letters, but as hatchlings do not often linger in the Roost, she seldom gets very far.
