From Vita's Journal

In the noble tradition of The Guardian breed, Creon left his clan behind to find his true Charge. Though his Mates protested, his mother insisted he fight his reluctance to do as she had when she was young. Find his calling, perhaps new friends, and take the pilgrimage like all others had before him.

He'd made a few stops by the time he came to a Cloudsong lair. It was a bit bright and breezy for him as a Shadow dragon, but in the search for his Charge, he couldn't be picky. The clan was large and bustling, and the twisting corridors of the lair made his head spin. He made an effort to meet every dragon on the airship and even looked among the familiars and treasures to see if his Ward was among them, but nothing satisfied that urge. Finally, satisfied that his ward was not here, he left, thanking the clan for their time.

Descending to the Ascent, he continued his search in another Wind lair. This clan was laid-back and friendly, and all its members were quite happy to help him. Creon searched high and low in their lair, but did not find his Charge. Saddened to see such a polite young guardian leave - though understanding the importance of his quest - the matriarch of the clan, Naedia, presented him with a sturdy pair of old boots and sent him on his way.

After his visit to a neighboring lair in the Ascent, he ended up not too far away. The new Windies were welcoming and kind, with a few pranksters here and there who had fun gently teasing the large dragon. The clan Mother took a bit of a shine to him and in her gruff way asked him to have a clutch with her. He was honored and agreed, staying until the hatchlings were old enough to manage on their own. He was gifted with his tarnished gorget by one of the fae before heading back out to see the world.

Struck by a Lightning clan, he decided to see if it suited him. For a few days, it did. Then he got tired of the aridity. Still not having found his Charge, he chose to move on.

Arriving in the Crystalspire Reaches, he consulted a clan of mages on what his Charge might be. After the clan members tried bringing him all manner of objects, from an old wizard hat to somebody's hatchling, he asked that they try to use magic to divine the location of his Charge. All they could tell him was that it wasn't near their clan, so he pressed onwards.

Creon arrived in the Wispwillow Grove, still looking for his Charge.
There he found a rather small clan, about 10 or so dragons.
The clan had a Guardian hatchling , and he seemed very eager to protect his clan.
Creon left the clan, not wanting to compete with a hatchling.
With wounded pride that a hatchling had found his charge before him, Creon moved on.

Feeling disheartened, Creon returned to one of the friendly Wind clans he had stopped at earlier in his journey. The clan fussed over the young guardian, trying to lift his spirits, but to no avail. Finally, the clan matriarch suggested Creon visit his home lair, to seek the advice of his mother. Seeing the sense in this, Creon thanked the clan once more and set off towards the Driftwood Drag.

His mother's Triumphant roars echoed across the region when Creon returned to his home. It seemed like so many things had changed and yet, nothing had. He asked about his own daughter, Holiday, and discovered that she too had begun the Journey for her charge.
Nia advised him to stay for a few days. See if, perhaps, his charge was among the hatchlings still in her protection. Creon agreed, though still disheartened at not finding his charge on his travels.

He set out again and soon found himself in the Hewn City. There he was welcomed by the SunDragon clan. Ambassador Violante was kind to him, but being a fae she didn't know much about charges. She took him to see Anatole whose charge was protecting the clan. Anatole didn't have much to say though. He remarked that no one can help a Guardian find their charge- only they can find it, but he added that all the Guardians find their charge eventually. Creon was still disheartened as he traveled onwards.

Beginning to weary of the constant travel, Creon settled himself in the Snowsquall Tundra, hoping his Charge might be hiding amongst the glaciers and eternal piles of snow. He was welcomed warmly into the Frozen Hollow clan, where he met several other Guardians. They inquired as to his search, and there he poured out his troubles and his fears. Achroite, the Clan Elder, relayed his long journey. Feeling heartened that Creon was not alone in an arduous search, he continued to search the tundra. After several weeks in the icy tundra that was the Snowsquall, Creon was forced to say his goodbyes and move on.

From frozen water to fresh, it seemed, for Creon next found himself in the sea of a Thousand Currents. Having stumbled onto a clan of almost entirely Guardians, he opted to rest his weary wings for a while and enjoy the sounds of the sea. While there, a Wavebreak Snarler attached itself to him, and while a bit testy, the seabear proved to be excellent company during his stay. He also got along rather well with a beautiful Imperial by the name of Bloodmoon, and ended up siring a nest of four eggs. His daughter from this nest, Lucrezia, will travel much in the same way her father does.

Once more at the doorstep of his own clan, Creon bowed his mighty head. Many more travelers it seemed had come through his home. He had sired many offspring in his time, and had seen many wonders. But now his family needed him. At long last, it seemed, he had found his charge.
