Emlyn hails from the Maxwell clan-- a sister clan in the Viridian Labyrinth. Her arrival marked the beginning of a long and happy alliance between the two families. Emlyn is the daughter of the Maxwell founder, Simara; her nobility is always evident in her comportment. Stoic and fair, Emlyn tempers Munchausen's impulsive bravado during clan council. She came to the Nytae clan to offer her services as a protector and champion. Along with Kurogane and Toda Mariko, she has won many trophies for her new family. Emlyn sent one of her daughters, Amaya, back to the Maxwell clan and was later given custody of a Amaya's daughter, Neryth, to train in the art of battle.

Battle is not the only thing that appeals to Emlyn. She has a powerful baritone and loves to sing and perform with the rest of the clan's troubadours. Oftentimes she takes the role of the leading male and thus has become quite popular among the other lady dragons.
