Lost Queen of Midnight Shadows
Prisoner of Shade

Astronomy seems... different. She is no longer the tired, scared prisoner. She laughs with Mairwen and finally seems to be, well, happy again. A dancing cloud of mist hisses out of her mouth, showing her old story.

Lavender raised Astronomy telling her that she was to be leader of the clan when she grew up. Astronomy was very open to the idea, looking up to her mother and wanting to make the clan as great as it could be. Her brother was not as willing, wanting to be the leader instead. Astronomy is always a little cautious around her brother, worrying that one day, he might actually make a move to try to take leadership from her. She uses her crow, Equius, as a lookout for her. She is a very kind leader and tries to contain her temper, but she has no qualms with being strict to her clan.

Astronomy never felt the usual guardian urge to find a charge. Not wanting to fail to live up to everyone's expectations, she tried taking a mate for a while, but she didn't feel attraction the way her mate did. She attempted to use Equius as a stand in for her charge, but even that didn't feel right. So, frustrated from the lack of need for a charge and the incessant urging from other dragons, she spoke with Amethyst to obtain a breed change. However, the breed change was rare, and required both a full moon and the height of the energy of Night of the Nocturne, when Amethyst's power was at its strongest. A secretive and slightly terrifying ceremony took place, and with a bit of an outfit change and magic, Astronomy is now her happy nocturne self.

Astronomy, like her name, loves the stars. She wants to build the clan strong enough that it can build a home there and have dragonets that lived in the stars. When she took control of the clan, she decided that she would have it in a better order, and so gave jobs to the individual dragons. She herself has the power to pull backstories from dragons, and uses that to teach visitors the lore of her clan.

But now, the star-struck Nocturne has a different part to play. Taken prisoner by the Shade dragons in mirror lake, she is trapped with only her memories and powers to keep her tied to her past life. The only real company she has is her keeper, Mairwen, who keeps her on leash and never out of her sight. Now Astronomy only stares through the shimmering surface of the lake, looking up at the stars and missing her home.
