Skarmory

I am...
... Skarmory. I'm one of the Alliance's sentinels. This means I spend the day guarding our inner territory, keeping watch, to make sure there's no intruders nearby.
It's a monotonous job. And that's why I'm stuck with it.

I should not complain. My loss was ultimately Administrator Zero's gain.
I'm just a sacrifice that the Alliance was willing to make.

Mend a maimed wing and an injured shoulder. Advanced biomedical engineering. A prosthesis that connects to the nerves.
That was the plan.

Administrator Eve had no time to lose; rushed the project.
I was the first subject. Her skills failed my body.
For her, I mark an unsuccessful project. A non-viable prototype.
Yet I can still live. The experiments didn't kill me. Eve didn't kill me.

My body barely works now. Physically, I am constantly exhausted.
I can't fly. I have a permanent limp.
During battles, I have to cower among the hatchlings, where I can barely pretend to serve as a guard.

Guard work is all I've known, and I'm not smart enough to assist the research teams.
So, a sentinel is what I am. That, and the object of continued observations.
Eve is still learning from me. Maybe she can spare another dragon from my fate.

I still have a long life to live, but it is barely fulfilling.
