Mirielle was the cause of a dispute in the clan even before her birth, after some of the clan scavengers returned from their day out with a Plague egg carefully wrapped in a scrap of red linen. With Rowan, a very serious Nature mage, wanting to get rid of it immediately as a Plague dragon could never be a part of a Nature clan, and Syrneas, Rowan's former protege and the clan leader (then barely out of their teens), arguing that an unhatched baby dragon could do no harm, it seemed that there was to be no real answer to the problem until the egg started hatching then and there, with a tiny purple Fae poking her head out and blinking at them with big red eyes.

Syrneas instantly lifted her out of the remains of the shell, holding her protectively as they faced down their far larger Skydancer mentor, and firmly stated that she was staying, and if she didn't have anyone else, then they would raise her themself.

Raised as Syrneas' and Lysson's daughter, under their tutelage, she learned to respect and love the natural world, and soon expressed a desire to be more involved with the spiritual life of the clan. Rowan (somewhat grudgingly) took her under his wing, and now he dotes on her like a granddaughter. Previously responsible for tending to the shrines that dot the clan territory, with the discovery of the Undercolony, she now leads that branch of the clan.
