Biography
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
"Kindness should always come before violence... Never use your weapons before your words." ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ Shiika has always been, since birth, a shadow dragon. When she was young, she was very much a wry trickster- she explored every corner of the Shadowbinder’s domain playing her sly tricks. She was young and restless, and in her blind youth decided she needed no clan. However, her mind started to change when she met a dear friend; a fellow shadow-kin, a large and tough fighter. His name was Yuu- The two spent much time together, eventually becoming inseparable. They traversed the Shadowbinder’s domain together daily. One day, they made an impactful discovery. Covered by some underbrush was a decorated tome. Its cover had several intricately-cut jewels embedded upon it, worn with age. The ever-curious Shiika grabbed the tome gently, brushing dust and dirt off of its surface. Shiika and her now mate, Yuu, opened the book and pondered the mysterious language within… How could anybody read this book? From the shadows, a frail figure appeared. A pearlcatcher, and she seemed rather injured. She looked up upon the two guardians, smiling sadly. She kept a low and harmless stance, explaining to the two what that book was. This pearlcatcher, Sihrkii, explained that the book did not have an official name in their language, but she’d always called it the ‘Stonesayer’s Tome’. Sihrkii further explained that she stole it from the Artificers, a large and powerful clan that aimed to use the tome for devastating ill-intent. Even more, Sihrkii explained that the tome could be used to summon and control golems- and, interestingly enough, she knew a fair amount about getting started in such magics. Never had Shiika been so interested in something that wasn’t fooling around, or playing tricks. She was amazed by what power one small book held… Sihrkii could see that. She offered to teach the guardian what she knew; with the one promise that the book never fell into the wrong hands. Shiika- and her mate, Yuu, accepted this. In due time, Shiika learned to use the tome- She grew more and more serious about using and protecting the tome each day. While Shiika was busy learning the strange magic, Yuu decided it was time for them to set up a more permanent home. He spent day-in and day-out working on a humble abode for them to reside within; that isn’t to say he wasn’t interested in the magic, but he needed his mate and their newfound companion to be safe. He built strong, but not strong enough. After just a few weeks of living safe and snug, a storm rolled through and rendered the work useless. This warranted a spark, in Shiika’s head. An unusual idea. She pitched the idea of perhaps leaving the Tangled Wood for the Scarred Wasteland. There, they could build into the barrier mountains that surrounded the region, giving them a hardy surface to create their home, be it underground, above ground, or both. And so they went- their new home in the Wastes. Just over the border, they still had access to the woods for building supplies and resources. After clearing the area, their new and permanent home was ready to be built. Yuu build as much as he needed to before he and Shiika decided to lay their first clutch. With much work to be done, the three found balance. Sihrkii took care of the eggs and, eventually, the young whelps. Yuu continued building their clan. Shiika dealth with those who might be fit to join the clan. Finally, it was done. They had home and a family. Shiika thought she learned all there was to be taught about the tome, and finally decided to give one of the more advanced spells a try. In her haste, she made a grave mistake- her dear old friend, Sihrkii, had become encased in stone. Now, Shiika balances searching for a way to free her old friend, and searching for these ‘Artificers’ that Sihrkii mentioned. After all, there had to be a reason that Sihrkii was so determined to stop them...
