Asterie Swift has a genius for theatre. Her plays are well known for character driven narrative and minimalist visuals: protagonists tortured by ambition, sympathetic antagonists, complex matriarchs, symbolic and intentional costuming, abstract lighting- the works.

Most notable, however, is her insistence on hiring Beastclan actors in addition to the regular dragon cast. In her work "Scales of Justice", a conniving dragon sends his Serthis familiar, Ymbret, to poison his enemies in their sleep. Ymbret finds her loyalty tested when she realizes her next mark is a mere hatchling. The actress cast as Ymbret gained wild popularity for her stirring performance and frequently returns to collaborate with Asterie.

Off stage, she's known for being quiet and observant. She shares her private self with only a handful of clanmates. Hydrangea Whit and Daniel Pritchard spend many hours with her, sharing rough drafts and inside jokes.

Her romances are usually passionate and brief. She is still on amicable terms with Jareth, she sends weekly correspondence to Kija of the Maxwell clan, and she politely ignores Hideki. She is done with nesting, but some rumors have circulated that she's been inviting Beau Fontaine to her alcove quite a lot recently...

Many of her offspring joined the Windsinger or left the clan to explore the world, but Willow and Arthur remained, following in their mother's footsteps in the world of theatre.
