Aeneas

When they tear the tongue out of his mouth in frustration and rage, his first though is that he is drowning, choking on his own blood.

But even as the blood dries and scar tissue forms, the empty space behind his teeth reminds him that he won't ever be able to talk again.

He has his claws, and his wit, and his determination, though. And, he reflects, his mate. There is only so much you can say, after all.

And actions always speak louder than words.



role: strategist

Aeneas is the clan's strategist. While Nyx does play an active role in the defense of the clan, Aeneas manages the finer points. Heracles used to take this role, until the duties of a clan leader made him pass the role on to someone else. And that someone else was Aeneas. As a hatchling, Aeneas had his tongue clawed out under torture by a Beastclan. His blooding went horribly wrong, resulting in his kidnap and torture. Eventually, he managed to escape, but his tongue was beyond recovery. Now that he's lost his voice, he can only communicate through sign language. He converses daily with Ictus, who is deaf and understands his signs. Ayumu, his mate, was the one who helped with his blood-red marks, and he is forever grateful to have her. He may be something of a commanding presence in the clan, but Aeneas is more of a gentle giant than anything else. The only thing that will set him off are the threats to his clan and his mate( He won't stand for it). Although what he wants to say may be easily misunderstood, Nyx seems to understand well enough to ensure that his directions are taken into consideration and that the clan is kept safe. And despite losing his voice, Aeneas has not yet lost sight of what truly matters.
