Amicus has always been the odd one out. The runt of the litter, and too friendly to boot; Always smiling, stumbling along after his clanmates, doing his best to be useful despite his tendency for mistakes. If the adults tolerated his presence, it was only out of pity. He was not long for this world, after all. At least the other hatchlings did not seem to mind him so much, even if he was a little softer than the rest. He may have often been the target of teasing, but elsewise the children treated him no differently than any other. As they aged, however, the playful teasings began to take a turn for the worse. Where they had before been blind to the differences caused by his small stature and kindly heart, his peers now saw reason for punishment. The juveniles had a blossoming interest in besting one another in trials of might. |

- fell in shallows of the Wyrmwound when he was young: Went in normal, climbed out a freak.
- clanmates panicked, thought he was as good as dead, didn't want him taking up lair space/eating needed supplies. (some thought he was chosen by the Plaguebringer, but they were overruled)

Maybe he just fell into that icky goop as a regular tundra and mutated?
- Maybe his "friends" were showing off how tough and cool they were by seeing who could get closest to it, Amicus joined in because he didn't want to be left out? Then things got outta hand with everyone jeering him on.
Amicus is the "monster" that Causaria meets in her story, they founded The Endless Hunt together, and eventually led the takeover of Causaria's home turf (which she was exiled from)
