Salamander is the most battle-driven of the mages, if not obvious by her apparel choices. In her original home in the Ashfall Waste, she is said to have found Granberia as an orphaned hatchling and raised her. The Guardian was an apparent prodigy, learning difficult skills at a young age until she even surpassed the great mage in mastery of the fire element and fighting skills. It is said the the wolf pelt she wears now is from when her adopted daughter took down a wolf single-handedly and gave Salamander the skinned pelt as a gift and proof of her power. Eventually Granberia went on her own way, but several months later came back asking Salamander if she wanted to join Clan Hellgondo, which after some persuading she decided it might be best to hone her skills and pass them on to those worthy within the clan rather than those wandering within the Ashfall Waste. It is debated whether her power or Undine's is harder to use and borrow in battle, but neither seem to care much, though they do only aid those who are truly worthy unlike Sylph and Gnome, who are a bit more lenient on their choices.
