Old lore:
The light was too bright. He'd heard whispers about it. About how he didn't belong, about how his parents hadn't belonged either. River wouldn't know about his parents. He'd never met them. The clans whispers had stung, but it had helped him to leave. The sun had been too bright, and as a scavenger the competition had been too much. He couldn't compete with the other light dragons. He needed to find his own way.

River traveled night and day from the sunbeam ruins, all the way to the tangled wood. There he stumbled around, thankful for the darkness, but annoyed by the climate. His senses were on fire, there were too much too see, and way too many things alive. It didn't do any good for his business. He stumbled upon another dragon, a lone nocturnal mirror without a name. She seemed fleeting, and she blended into the background, like a shadow. Like she belonged in the dark.

They didn't speak, she mostly followed him, and he accepted that. He didn't mind her company, and when she started to bring him food he started to enjoy her company. Not soon after they'd reached the edge of the tangled wood she finally spoke.
"You can call me Darkness."
"You can call me River."
She flicked with her tail, and that was it. As time went on, and as they travelled into the Scarred Wasteland, they started to talk more and more. Before any one of them knew it they were in love.

Although, their love is highly unusual. They can go days without speaking, but they're fiercely loyal. They've got each others back. When they joined the Clan of Rot River finally relaxed. He could now focus entirely on his work, and he realized that plague was his one true home.

There's few in the clan who truly apprechiates River's hoarding qualities. In fact, the few that does are probably Tyche and Darkforge as they both usually find creative ways to put his stuff to use. When River and Darkness joined the clan, Dissection had already become leader. It was way before Wanheda joined, so Dissection didn't have any kind of friends or supporters at that time. Therefore, they both hit it off pretty good, and instantly became friends.

Whenever they have the time they go out on walks around the peremiter, sometimes they talk, and sometimes they just walk in silence. River always enjoys those times, and he thinks Dissection does too. While they've been getting rarer since Wanheda joined the clan, they're still not uncommon, and they try to make time for each other as often as they can.

One of River's favorite things to do is following Darkness when she goes hunting. It gives him some nostalgic feelings, and also gives him the opportunity to explore other places where he might find new stuff! When he goes scavenging on his own he usually sticks pretty close to the clan. While he know how to fight, he wouldn't want to be ambushed alone. Besides, he knows that Darkness can protect him.

His lore and personality really needs a re-write. See him as the fun and weird uncle. Super sarcastic, probably gets along with murphy now that i think about it. old sarcastic dudes club? Moros being apart of this club? also river knows him ebcause he sometimes scavenges stuff he wants idk.
