While the Explorers of the Dawn were off on their own rescue missions, Kara - the clan's founder - had a rescue mission of her own, finding her long-lost childhood friend. When Kara and Gale were just hatchlings, they became best friends through their love for exploration. They would go everywhere together, learning all there was to learn about their little worlds. No secret was too hidden to discover, no mountain too high to climb. As the dragons grew, so did their passion. They made a promise to each other that as soon as they were old enough they would establish an exploration guild. This guild would unite dragons with a passion for adventure, and together they would explore the far reaches of the land and expand the map of Sorneith. And so the Explorers of the Dawn were established. A small guild containing just over ten members. Kara and Gale never let the small turnout dampen their spirits, day after day they explored further and further from their home base. They charted new caves, documented new species of animals, and discovered something new every day. That is, until the storm. The Sea of One Thousand Currents stirred and churned beneath them. Waves as high as Imperials crashed below them, creating sounds that rivaled the thunderclaps above. A cold, sharp rain beat down on the explorers as they struggled to stay aloft. One moment, Kara felt Gale's warm body next to hers, and the next she was alone. Cold. Confused. Had Gale been struck by lightning? Had he fallen to the earth from fatigue? Or had he simply become lost in all the chaos? The mystery haunted Kara from that day onward. Since the storm, Kara's ambition to expand the guild had only grown stronger. After all, the more explorers they have, the better the chances of one day finding Gale... Little did she know that Gale would actually find her. Years later, a pair of Mirror merchants wander into Home's trunk. Adventurers flocked to the small caravan, eager to see their wares. The curious Kara dragged herself from her office down to where the merchants had set up shop; perhaps these travelers had mammertee plushies to sell? One look at the merchant's assistant and tears began to fog up her glasses. Gale had come home.
