Biography
Lobelia, referring to the flower. The flower can mean "Malevolence" in the flower language.
Consort, Nishant.
Lobelia was initially named for the group of dark pink flowers growing near her nest, but it was soon discovered she easily lived up to the meaning of the the flower-'Malevolence'. Vain and petty and as filled with pride as many others of her kind, she's the first to start an argument and the last to drop it. This often gets her into heated fights with Kerria and Riptide, and it is hard to have them in the same room at any time.
If there is one redeeming trait to Lobelia though, it is her maternity; No one loves their children like she does. Lobelia will often turn a blind eye to bad behavior, and will verbally tear a dragon to pieces should one dare to insult her hatchlings. Interestingly, all hatchlings are taken under her wing as well, whether they are her own or not, and she will treat them like her own. As such, she's always the first to be asked to babysit, despite any current displeasure a parent might have with Lobelia themselves.
Lobelia has a particular liking for silky bows and wears ribbons out constantly.
Initially, Lobelia was too prideful to take on a consort--she considered most of the available males around her incapable of being a decent father for her children. This changed when Nishant made attempts to woo her--even then, prideful and concited as she was, she saw that he was a mirror to herself but without a base for his pride. While she held her pride parallel to her maternity, Nishant had nothing to be truly proud of. She told him so, rejecting him harshly. When he disappeared for a week, she grudgingly admitted to herself that she felt somewhat guilty. She was surprised when he did not immediately try to woo again, but instead took to quiet contemplations alone, and she found that unlike before he took time to speak an opinion.
Nishant was becoming more considerate, and the thought bothered her when she realized that she herself had not been enough to even consider him before. When Nishant approached her with intent to court her again, they had both changed somewhat, and she liked what she saw now enough to give him the time of day. She discovered that he was naturally slow and kind to hatchlings, and was pleasantly surprised to find that she enjoyed his intelligent companionship, even when they argued (surprisingly, just as much of the noise from their fights comes from Nishant as from Lobelia.). They have slowly been learning to love others from one another, and while they now love others as well, Nishant is first in her heart, as she is first in his.
