____The world is a messy place.
____Too loud, too dangerous, too disorganized - The April Fool has seen what the world had to offer him, and rejected it all. Safety can be found in his workshop, where the only sounds are the whir of machines, the click of claws against metal, the occasional squeak of a rusty gear. There is a sense of control that a small creature like him cannot find anywhere else, a space for him to master.
____His workshop had been small, once, a singular room on the edge of the Carrion Canyon. He had created things solely for his amusement - mechanizations to strengthen his underused wings, tiny bots that skittered back and forth on forged legs. Beautiful things, peaceful things.
____But Theo - Theo had brought him purpose.
____A surprise visit and a quiet conversation was all that it took to whisk the fae from the lands of his birth to the realm of the Shadowbinder. A challenge was to be found there. Now, he forges things of use; solar panels to harness the occasional flickers of the sun, methods to channel water from the swampy lands, devices to work through the thorns and the underbrush to expand the borders of their clan.
____Though he rarely speaks, his newfound satisfaction is palpable in everything he builds, from houses, to hatchling toys.
