- and cosette lost her relevance as a alliance dragon due to the humplosion breaking contact with Vogelzang and also valjean and mariele left
- so she was disassociating in her apartment and taking care of the badly injured juarve
- but one of the first things Aramis did when the secret clan magic treatment started kicking in was stop being mean to ives and giving him leadership of the ice expedition
- while ives was gone, aramis continued hanging around and kept trying to build a relationship with cosette
- very confusing to her because of how out of character he was acting, but once the news of the expedition loss/ives + three of their kids being lost, she stopped resisting

- okay, thinking of the timeline, this means that the fundraiser WAS the first time cosette hosted a court function
- had an emergency introduction into light society
- where she was looked upon as a uneducated plague hick, which embarrassed her greatly
- before the nature attack but after the ice expedition loss, in order to draw attention to the under known western fleets existence and cultivate outrage and money
- there was a fundraiser at a rented manor (the bellamare manor being under repairs still) which was hosted by Aramis and cosette
- she had to be there as a maybe widow but this lodged her in the public consciousness as existing

- NOW, after ives being granted Admiralship and vogelzang being a trade center and very important as the clan of aramis's wife
- she's doing very well for herself
- sieghilde is busy running her own clan so cosette's taken over her role at court

- loves the structured ruleset of polite society and how you memorize your manners and you're Good



- Rozena is her original handmaiden, and as she grew up in the ruins, had the most training to teach cosette into being a lady during ives reign
- she was hitting adulthood 2 (10 years old) by the time cosette was entering court herself, and shuffled off into a diplomatic role
- rometis is her second companion, the eldest daughter of earthen king, too airheaded to take advantage of her position
- grew up alongside lailuma, but didn't follow her into the legion at Dragonhome. aged out and kind of floundering to find a career, so is vaguely looking for a political marriage
- newest companion is the parorise imp, taken up at rozena's suggestion
- he's a pearl of court to be sure, but




- born to a vogelzang merchant, valjean, who put her forward hesitantly after Aramis requested a dragon to wed one of their dragons
- terminus was a sad sack of a dragon but they wanted to keep him happy to keep his much more important mother happy
- thus cosette got slung directly into a political marriage
- lasted less than a year before imploding
- she has literally never spoken about her time at the shadow camp ever again and pretends not to hear you if you mention it
- is on better terms with her ex husband nowadays since she knows the whole story after jorg told her. they don't hold the marriage against each other but they agree to never talk about it
- since they like. live in the same manor
- she never loved him but she cares about him. maybe it could of worked if it lasted longer but she doesn't dwell on it


- Marius ran away because he thought cosette loved her new family more, didn't get that you have to approach her she won't initiate affection on her own. too ashamed of himself after he got dragged back, and never tried to restart a relationship with her. she's up on a pedestal where he can't reach her
- was absolutely devastated when stoja was kidnapped. already projecting a lot about how they were both sent away to live in strange clans, but the loss was awful and led to her building a wall between her and the other kids she knew she would send away in the future. frustrated that ives and her keep fighting and him driving her away so she won't visit
- she was proud of svarukti for her success at court, and I don't think cosette realized when she scant letters stopped coming, after svarukti was disgraced and sent into the ruinbreakers. very much surprised when she made a reappearance with the squadron sent to virulent after the nature attack. They got along really well as they built their court presence together, one of her favorite kids
- alauoti has always been soft spoken but her other two sisters being sent away gave her a spotlight. it was cosette's idea to have her sent to the shadow nursing school. her reappearance a monthish after the woods burnt down was a pleasant shock, and they spent a lot of time together-alauoti helping iron out the kinks with juarve's set up - but since she purposefully dodged a political life, they don't get to see each other as much

- has a lot of feelings about dariga. he was her special baby that she demanded she got to keep, and she absolutely spoiled him to the point of ignoring that he was a jerk. this all vanished the second he participated in killing and eating his uncle in retaliation for him murdering cosette's mother. absolutely disgusted by him and it covers up everything else. dariga doesn't seem to like. get it. he goes to kiss her cheek and she dodges him, and then he acts surprised like that didn't happen the past hundred times
she 1) found about the riding accident and was worried enough to sit at his bedside 2) spent several days out in the wasteland with him and juarve after he made sure they fled the caverns during the war, and that was enough to semi involve each other in their lives. dariga does a lot of legwork trying to be close. she is aware of biscotti and has met him (and thinks he's charming) but obviously doesn't Know

- inkelti got sent away as an infant, so uh. no prior relationship. when she reappeared after fleeing from the arcane conspiracy, cosette took the opportunity to drag her into court and celebrate her escape. she was very much the lady of virulent at this point and took her along for the ride. see, it's not that she was forcing inkelti, it's that inkelti was so cowed from her upbringing and naturally quiet besides that she couldn't just. say she wanted to take a little break from court because she was overwhelmed. her adopting hilarthune was an excuse but she meant it. cosette's pretty proud of her for taking on the baby

- tergalia was the second baby she kept, not intending on it at first but being forced to after he was born with curved legs. he couldn't be sent away on a wardship and was instead kept and babied. this caused severe jealousy issues from dariga, who escalated into a bully and targeted tergalia and cyprus (a ward who she uniquely raised as he was a Tiny Delicate Fragile fae).
later on, tergalia participated in the murder/eating of kivka and likewise was thrown out of the apartment. he acts like he doesn't need attention but [grits teeth]. followed her to court and continues to be an embarrassment to her. I think she'll get involved with his new baby but gotta think about that more

- krova took awhile to send away so cosette knew her as a kid. she's always had that self centered attitude so wasn't exactly a mommy's girl. they didn't bond. she's back now and I seriously doubt they've sought each other out

- oh iliutias . . . she was Ives's baby, he chose to keep her inexplicably, and she stuck by his side. despite them living with each other, I don't think her and cosette were particularly close. iliutias was trying to be the kind of person ives wanted her to be, and put less merit in the homefront of diplomacy.
her participating in kivka's murder of course got her thrown out of the apartment, and iliutias kinda just vanished to her. she had a lot of issues but was less visible about it than dariga. she was assumed dead on the ice expedition, and her sudden reappearance in an Even Worse state, directly after dariga's accident which already left cosette emotionally raw, was the most time she and cosette spent one-on-one. they are decent towards each other but not affectionate. after cosette left for court, she started slipping into her old tendencies and ives had her set up in a town in Dragonhome, where she rarely visits from

- maldoti was sent away as a baby and unexpectedly sent back home from the plateau with ives and ilgeslys post ice expedition. she got caught up in the reunion's emotional minefield. maldoti had no idea what was happening or who anyone was so she kinda. hovered around the apartment while Ives was recovering. so the vibes are weird but cosette is fond of her. both have the emotional literacy of a brick and they agree on that fact. also I'm fairly certain that maldoti lived in their apartment when she had The First Grandbaby and cosette left the ruins to help because she's so pumped for grandkids

- ilgeslys is [grits teeth]. see, ilgeslys was supposed to be sent away as a ward, so cosette avoided bonding with her, but ilgeslys refused to leave so. um. they are not on the same wavelength and I really think ilgeslys would have been a better person with more adult guidance. literally the reason the kivka incident happened was because nobody curbed her biting reflex as a baby. but yeah that happened and she fled the apartment, escaping into raiding and hunting and cavalry work.
due to ilgeslys's proximity to ives, dariga, and mariele they're going to see each other whenever they like it or not. its incredibly awkward. idk what could thaw out the gap between them.

- klaikyti was sent away as a baby but now he's dazzling everyone at her luncheons so cosette a) gets a lot of time with him b) gets nothing but benefits from his behavior and manners. so she's super fond of him. her one son who isn't a garbage man. he's analyzed her personality to a T and is good at working around her quirks/not giving her any room for annoyance. he's secretly competitive around his siblings over this and gets mad when they're jerks. just don't!! choose not to be!! little too much of a people pleaser but oh well

- noreti is literally just cosette but hyperfixated on work instead of society's rulebook. neither realize this. she's not good at court functions because she gets annoyed easily, but is really good for slinging behind the scene jobs at, since she's good with money and an absolute shark towards dragons. comfortably slotted herself into a position as cosette's helper which she enjoys

- juarve has the 'fell in the wyrmwound' card and can do no wrong ever

- okay so seltislove and bebairuma grew up at sea with ives so cosette
