King

Her name is King and she controls the wind, the insects, and the black flowers of the Obsidian Fields. Her dress is made from butterflies scales and she floats from place to place in her human form. Wherever she walks, black flowers would sprout and wilt accordingly to her presence. King is older than Mange and Ape combined, though nobody knows how old she really is.

Once a year, the Night Kingdom would hold a festival of light to pay tribute to King for keeping the locust plague at bay for that year’s successful harvest. King’s territory is near the edge of the forest but once in a while, she visits Ape and Mange to see how they are doing, neither of which are too thrilled about her presence.

There is a rumour that King had a child and that child is somewhere in the Maze Forest, but nobody knows who or where it is or even if it exists. King, meanwhile, exerts her motherly presence elsewhere (onto Ape and Mange) and forces them to do an annual spring-cleaning of their lair. They have since learned that once black flowers begin to bloom around their parts of the forest, King was coming and they had better start cleaning or risk having their hoard blown out the window.
