Bronte never worries about what other dragons think of her. To be perfectly truthful, she never really thinks about other dragons at all. Disappointments, all of them. But that was nothing new, she'd known disappointment since she was a hatchling. Her cad of a father disappeared with her sniveling oldest brother trailing after him. Then there was her aloof, promiscuous mother who couldn't bother to remember which hatchlings were hers, much less care when Bronte's other brother chose to leave to serve in the glory of the Gladekeeper.
No, Bronte had learned long ago how to take care of herself. She'd taken on a job as the Gardener of the clan to ensure she always had top choice of plants and could skim a bit extra when the seasons were harsh. It is her role as Orator which does her the most good, as her narcissism make her able to speak with unabashed authority on any issue. The more engrained she becomes in the tribe, the harder it is for her to set aside her narcissism for a moment and realize how it strikes the other dragons, particularly one narcissistic council member, the wrong way.
