Biography
Imperial and Guardian collided in mid-air, the resulting crash loud enough that the younger dragons watching the spar covered their ears, eyes alight. 'Ooh's and 'Aah's slipped from the crowd of trainees as blows were exchanged. While the fighters had no intentions to cripple and maim, gasps were heard as they narrowly dodged each other's attacks. Gnashing sharp teeth, swinging viciously muscled tails and trading swipes with their wings and claws, the two were a sight to behold.
The battle ended with both parties relatively unscathed, save for a couple bruises where attacks barely clipped each other. They landed near the younglings, who excitedly swarmed and bombarded them with questions and requests to learn specific moves. While the Knight simply smiled, his partner was quick to dive into explanations, and promises of more lessons in the future, so that they could protect themselves in the future.
He couldn't help but reminisce.
His clan found him surrounded with fallen foes, a lone warrior standing tall amidst what seemed to be hundreds of Beastclan members. Some were astounded by the sheer control and power he held, while others were just shocked that he had survived the onslaught. Thun didn't say a word, simply glad that his brethren had caught up to him and could now watch his back as he stood guard.
He was approached by a maiden, whose eyes glittered like sapphires and whose smile could melt the most icy of hearts.
"I am relieved that you are well my love, thank you for doing your best." He shook his head, blinking out of his daydream as his mate stood before him. She gave him a genial smile, cuddling up beneath his wing, her head curled under his. Those that saw them cooed at the adorable sight, and he had to fight to hold back a blush.
"You can come out now, little one."
The Maiden's eyes widened in surprise as a tiny hatchling, barely a few days old, appeared from within the Knight's mane. It babbled in excitement, and she couldn't help but reach out and cradle the young one in her arms. "Oh, what horrors you must have been though," she sighed, mood somber.
"I found him in an alcove, surrounded by enemies", he spared a glance towards the defeated Beastclan members. "He needed me."
She looked at him then. She looked hard, and saw him for what he truly was. A fierce warrior he was, yes, but she also saw that he was kind. He was selfless, gallant and honorable. Above all, however, he was gentle. The little one blinked at the two older dragons gazing at him warmly.
"I suppose that makes you my hero Knight, then. I thank you for your actions in protecting this one."
They were aware of the moment that their eyes locked for the first time, and a bond was formed, of wonder, of hope, of love.
"For you, always."
