Biography
Literally means devil, or spirit. It is a mythological creature from Aboriginal Australia that was said to lurk in swamps, creeks, riverbeds and waterholes.
The clever Imp was just a teenager when he happened upon the clan; despite his age at that time, Bunyip was still plenty of trouble. he had a run in with Yuni, a kind-hearted dragon, and he figured that he could fool her in a few games and win whatever pieces of jewelry that she had on. Bunyip asked if she would like to play some games of "chance", the winner gets to pick a prize from the loser. Yuni, who loves to play games quickly agreed, blinded to the idea that this stranger could be up to something. Two rounds into their guessing game, Bunyip had already won Yuni's bracelets and necklace. However, before he could swindle another item off of Yuni, Aseri, the captain of the vanguard and acting warden stepped in. The Pearlcatcher revealed the slight of hand tricks that Bunyip was using. Busted.
Aseri kept the teen imprisoned for a few weeks. In that time instead of moping, Bunyip tried to improve his tricks and think of new ways of foolery. After he was released, much to everyones' surprise, Bunyip decided to stick around with the clan...mainly to spite Aseri. Bunyip doesn't have many friends in the clan, probably his closest friend is the shady opportunist, Mara.
As he has grown older, Bunyip disappears from the clan for long periods of time. During each time, Aseri wishes that the clan would finally be rid of him, but the Imperial always returns...generally with more treasures than he left with. However, for some odd, twisted reason, Bunyip only swindles money out of dragons outside of the clan. It infuriates Aseri when he finds out, because there isn't much evidence to pin against the Imperial for his crimes.
Bunyip is sly, greedy, and always looks out for himself first. He has gambling addiction, though he doesn't consider it harmful as he usually wins his games with a few calculated losses on the side. Not only is he good at pickpocketing the pouches of other dragons, but he's taught his daughter, Fifolet, this skill as well.
