TideJewel, much like her mate, has become a healer of the mind, heart, and soul. Formerly a skydancer, her powers of empathy are not as strong as her mate's. However, she is an expert at reading the language of body and tone in all breeds of dragon kind. She is the backbone and healer to her own mate when he needs it. She does not fear pain like he does, nor does it overwhelm her; however, she is still not suited for the more physical art of healing. Her ability to the heal is that of the darker kind. She will not sugar-coat the words that need to be said; and she is willing to challenge, goad, enrage and even send dragon into despair so that they may learn the truth and thus realize their need to heal. Her art has often been called "the debridement of the soul." There is still pleasure to be had in her claws, but there is also pain. Dragons come to her be to punished for the sins they bear in their souls and be purified by the pain they endure under her ministrations...while others find release and bliss in sweet agony she provides. Also like her mate, she hosts many diversions and fetes for her clientele. While much more exotic and dark than bright and gay, they are no less enjoyable (and for some even more so) than the festivals of the day. "We are the priest and lover, companion and strangers. We are the family many have and something so foreign they can say anything to us. In return we are healed by those who have received our gifts, giving back in turn for what we have given. " |
