B I O G R A P H Y

Nimbus was born in the bustling chaos of the Lightning Flight. He was quickly swept up in the hustle and work of factory life, which he found incredibly fascinating. His role models were the towering Ridgebacks, the very essence of the Stormcatcher himself. The great machines the god of Lightning had them build were monstrous both in size and power and they filled the Nocturne hatchling with awe. This is what he wanted to do, the little dragon thought. But compared to the great Ridgebacks, Nimbus was so small, almost delicate to many of their eyes. It was only after much begging and pleading on the Nocturne’s part that an older Ridgeback took him under his wing as his pupil. The larger dragon taught the young fledgling everything he knew. Nimbus learned quickly and with exceptional proficiency, baffling his clan mates. However, just as the Nocturne was small, everything he made was equally so- intricate little machines that ranged from clocks to mechanized toys. Though his mentor continued to encourage his work, none of the others considered it of any real use.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t long until his elderly mentor passed, and the distraught little Nocturne became listless. Aside from his tutor, he had few other friends, and certainly no one was interested in his whimsical contraptions. Thus, he left his home in the Shifting Expanse, determinably crossing over the Sea of a Thousand Currents to reach the Tangled Wood. He had heard this was the origin of his species, and thought that he could find friends and companionship there. He found both in the Duskhollow Haven, which welcomed the quirky little Nocturne fully into the clan. He was delighted to find it housed a few Ridgebacks of its own. He became rather fond of Rabble, the older dragon’s rambunctious and fun-loving nature so contradictory to what he was used to, and this drew him to the elder. Together, the two tend to cause quite of bit of mischief in the clan, their shenanigans often including Nimbus’s latest inventions.

Though not related by blood, Nimbus has come to be known as a part of Rabble’s family. Since the passing of Rabble’s mate, Squall, the Ridgeback is determined to keep his remaining family close, including the young Nocturne that he’s adopted as his own little brother. Rabble’s mother, Mischief, has no qualms with this and wholly excepts Nimbus as her own son, especially since Nimbus has been a tremendous help as Rabble coped with his loss.

_BEASTCLANS_

____Nimbus holds more sympathy towards the Beastclans than the rest of his family. He likes to befriend the ones that join Duskhollow and make things for them that would make their stay more comfortable. The Beastclans at large, however, tend to make him nervous- he’s heard enough stories from Mischief about Beastclan interactions in the Scarred Wasteland to be anxious about any clans that get too close to the Haven. He does his best to give them the benefit of the doubt, being a peacekeeper at heart.

_SQUIGGLES_

____Nimbus actually snatched Squiggles away from Spellbinder. He had spotted the waveskimmer in a pen when passing by her lab and saw fit to rescue her from the Ridgeback’s shady experiments. Spellbinder groused for a while that she had in fact brewed the creature herself, but she has a notorious reputation. Needless to say, he got to keep the waveskimmer after all.
