Biography

Born under the watchful eye of the Flamecaller, Cinaed spent many years under the tutelage of the only best teachers, training and learning for his position as Mother Flamecaller’s ambassador. He flourished, becoming the best of the best in everything he put his mind into: diplomacy, fighting, hunting, and much more.

Mother takes care of those that are hers, and when a clan she was very fond of came close to disbanding, she sent her favorite to help the clan rise from the bottom and flourish. Cinaed was filled with excitement, finally, his first mission! At the time he didn’t understand Mother’s croons, mothering and sad sighs. Only when he was greeted with yelling and disbelieving stares did it sink in. He was going to be away for a long time.

He knows of their distrustful stares and whispers behind his back. He understands, Mother is great and though she can’t be everywhere for her children, she will do her best to assist them in these hard times. Only on cold, dark nights does he begrudge them for their pride, the way they cling to the past, to the leader that abandoned them. If he loved them, why did he leave and never look back? Mother sees them all, loves them all equally and wishes to help them even when they are no longer under her watchful eye.

Cinaed is a quiet dragon, preferring to listen and react than to act rashly. His social skills are abysmal at best, as his younger years were spent in the company of, though the best, incredibly strict teachers. Not a claw could be put out of line. Sometimes, when Mother wasn’t looking, they would sneer and look down upon him with loathing. Little Cinaed learned why many years later: they were envious, of Mother’s kind gaze and soothing hum, of her favorite child.

At least he has Tower and Beatrix. Bea will always be there to growl back insults and wave fists when his heart hurts too much from the way they argue about everything, doing everything they can do just to disagree. Tower will pull him away to a secluded area and they would cuddle. For a moment Cinaed forgets about his mission and enjoy the warm presence of the dragon he regards as an older brother. Then Bea, the big sister would come and join them, grumbling and swearing up and down about idiots and arrogant dragons with Tundra fluff instead of brains.

He fights with Tower and Beatrix. The trio is truly fearsome on the battlefield, aware of each other’s pros and cons, guarding each other’s backs. He truly enjoys battling, putting everything into it, jumping, weaving, ducking and attacking.

Andromeda is a dragon he admires for her incredible skill with magic. He was never talented in magic in general, though flame conjuration is something that is second nature. Andromeda always answers any questions he has and patiently explains whatever problem he can’t seem to understand. It is thanks to her influence that the clan accepted him into their midst.

It’s gotten better over time. More of Unicorn Coast accepts him and lets him do his duties. It has truly become a second home, filled with dragons he wishes to protect. They go to him with their troubles and he does his best to help solve them, happy about every smile and word of thanks. They finally understand, finally see Mother’s love. He has forgiven them for being angry, they are just normal dragons that had their hearts broken and wanted someone to blame, to be angry at. Though he doesn’t plan to ever become the leader these dragons need, he will stay until a new head is found and the chaos is resolved. He has learned more about the real world during his stay and has helped banish the despair that permeated in the clan and replace it with hope and optimism.
