Biography

The Dagger

Adaro likes his privacy. He likes his quiet. He likes to be alone with his experiments and trophies, to be able to practice his skills and his hobbies in peace. Adaro practices calligraphy and martial arts, reading and poetry. He has recently taken up painting landscapes, and is very into finding inner peace through meditation. The little fae is a master assassin and duelist, his skill quietly written in the lack of scars on his body. He moves silently, kills quickly, and vanishes without a trace. Those very few who manage to get close to him uncover a wry sense of humor and a love of puns that are unrivaled among the dragons he works with.

He has always felt the call to war, stronger even than most wildclaws do. Adaro works very, very hard to keep himself centered and to keep his inner beast at bay. He will always love his position as a taker of life, and is fully aware of the darkness inside him. Not borne of any taint, mind, nor any Shade-plague. It's just a piece of draconic nature, and in Adaro, it is stronger than in most. Odd that a fae would have such a nature, but life was full of little oddities.

Lately, though, Adaro has had to work extra hard to find his peace. He has found himself to be the Charge of a rather insane number of Guardians. All have different styles of protecting him, all are constantly underfoot (despite being many times his size), and all are fighting with each other. Constantly. Adaro never asked for any of this. Adaro hates every minute of it, in fact, and is starting to hate the dragons who are constantly fighting to shadow him. They're large, and they smell, and they're loud, and they're uninterested in self-improvement, and all of them seem to want him as a mate. This absolutely disgusts Adaro. He would love nothing more than a companion of his choosing, with a compatible personality, and in his size range to spend a quiet life of contemplation with... but he knows that the swarm of Guardians would all attack such a fae as a threat.

The lack of privacy and quiet to recharge is chipping away at Adaro's sanity, piece by piece. The beast inside him, the dark part of his draconic nature, has started to feed upon the rage building inside him. He never asked for this. They took away his freedom of movement, his privacy, his ability to have his own friends. They meddle in every single aspect of his life. They took away his agency. Adaro hates all of them beyond words.

His cadre of unwanted, despised shadows are too ignorant to see how close they are pushing him to the edge. The only solace he has is Orion, his Nocturne friend who makes it all bearable, and (grudgingly) Gwydion, the one Guardian he has who isn't obsessed with him. Adaro has taken to training them (when he can get Gwydion off her butt to train) and hangs out with them a lot, much to the utter heartbroken rage of the other Guardians.

He has, however, found a lovely lady he is interested in courting. Blunt and aggressive, skilled in battle, and strong as all get-out, Adaro has found himself smitten with Spark. He knows she values her privacy as well, though, and whether or not she'd be interested in him while he still has his little Guardian problem is still up for debate. Mostly because Adaro is too shy to ask her out, and won't ever do so while the jillion and a half Guardians are watching.

Lately, he's cultivated some new friendships. Ayden is basically his polar opposite, but Adaro considers him a brother. Katyusha is a former member of the Entourage, born into a Guardian body when she really wasn't supposed to be, and Adaro considers her a close friend too. He set the two of them up, and when they found Haimona to complete their family, Adaro celebrated with them. The poly-triad now rank among his closest friends and confidantes. They're living proof, at least in his eyes, that the most happy and functional multi-relationship families don't spend their time crowing about their superiority-- they spend their time being happy and living their lives.
