Her entry into the clan after BattleSong took over was brutal and to the point. A fight broke out between her and another female dragon as she was passing through and she won - simple as. Her deed impressed the leader of the clan, who it turned out was the mate of the dragon she had slayed. Instead of reacting violently as War thought he might, BattleSong became enamored with her. He didn't trust her as far as he could throw her, though he cared for her enough to have children with her.

War was cold and distant with the clan, caring very little about the other dragons. When her first nest hatched, many dragons thought she may have been replaced by an impostor. Her devotion to her own children was something of a wonder to the other members of the clan. Despite her protesting, BattleSong sent his children away out of fear they would rise up against him and oust him from power. War, meanwhile, only got more discontent with BattleSong's paranoia.
