Biography
Sorath
Prince of Magen Rishon
Prince of Magen Rishon
Sorath is a prince of Magen Rishon, one of two mated to King Ezekiel. He is also Ezekiel's Charge, a concept he was unfamiliar with until it was explained to him. Their relationship was slow to start, though cordial. It was clear they both were friendly toward one another, but friendliness grew into something deeper. Romance took hold. Gifts were given. The entire lair knew what was up. Then came along Theliel, saved from the wilderness much like Sorath had been. Once again, friendliness grew into romance. The pair became a trio. Anael rolled her eyes at the clan's mysteriously vanishing funds and the new, fancy silks Theliel wore.
When Lucifer attacked the old clan in its lair in the mountains, Sorath and Theliel had blessfully been with Ezekiel. Had they not been, Sorath doubted they would have survived. If he'd been killed, he knew Ezekiel would have forever been scarred. That's just how Guardians were. Even in the afterlife, Sorath wouldn't have been able to forgive himself. He couldn't think of what it would've felt like to lose Theliel, either. But that's all in the past. The kingdom has been stable enough for Sorath to forget about the what-ifs, instead focusing on the what-nows. His throne sits beside Ezekiel's, as does Theliel's, and the two make their time for the court, as well as their king. Unlike Theliel, Sorath doesn't like entertaining guests. He finds forced social interaction grating, a waste of his energy, when he'd much rather be out and about and doing something. Only his desire to not let Ezekiel down, to not let his unruly behavior tarnish Ezekiel's reputation, keeps him firmly rooted in the public eye. As soon as Ezekiel dismisses them, however, Sorath takes off as fast as lightning, rushing for any place that has a breath of fresh air, such as the gardens. Ezekiel has told him that he understands. It wasn't his intention to become king, to put the burden of politics on his mates' shoulders. And Sorath relieves him of guilt, says he doesn't blame him, because he doesn't. With the recent addition of two fugitive harpies, Erasmus and Anath, Sorath's duties have grown even more. He is in charge of Prince Erasmus, a softspoken and almost flighty young male with beautiful, brown and yellow plummage. The harpy doesn't seem to trust him much, as of now, but their relationship isn't near as shaky as it was in the beginning. Erasmus doesn't involuntarily flinch whenever Sorath enters his room or looks over at him anymore. Whatever happened in Erasmus' past to make him so fragile he hasn't said, but Sorath fears it. After all, Sorath knows tragedy, and he empathizes with the prince. |
