Syenhur

Nobody is entirely certain what to make of Syenhur. He's been around for longer than any other dragon in the clan, until the eternal lack of sun in the Shadowbinder's domain bleached his fur and skin. He smells funny - his fur is always musty and in a state of semi-shed. His eyes have long since gone blind, and he cannot fly. The saying "older than dirt" is actually applicable to him. If he could remember, he could describe a time when the clanhome was slightly taller than it is today, before the centuries of weathering and erosion took place.

Despite the fact that every dragon he knew in his youth is dead, as are most of those he met in his middle years, Syenhur stubbornly clings to life. Several of the dragons have theorized that his loyalty to his family keeps him going to guard them. Hrozyn visits him often to check up on his health.

If he had the memory capabilities of one of the other breeds, then he could regal the dragons of the clan with tales from the distant past. He was there for the appointment of Xacrali's great, great grandfather, and the last time they flew to war. However, nothing beyond vague fragments remain, ones that often surface in his dreams.

Syenhur's long lifespan has led to one interesting discovery. Tundras can actually smell blood relation. It was an offhand remark that led to this revelation, when he said that Xacrali smelled a great deal like another Guardian as well as the previous leader. It had confirmed something many had suspected for years, and solved some interesting irregularities in Tundra behavior patterns.

With great age comes great patience. He's living proof of that, willing to spend hours answering the questions of impatient hatchlings. His general lack of energy and stiff, old joins have endeared him to Erdengan. The shy Skydancer checks up often with him, and he enjoys her company. He's laid back in the extreme, never taking offense at any overheard comments - just because he is blind doesn't mean he is deaf too. Syenhur is a gentle old soul who prefers to spend his days drowsing in the purple light of the Clanhome.

His familiar Repchi is actually the seventh or eighth of that name. Duskrats, even those bonded to long-lived breeds, rarely exceed a century of life. He had more, who were not named Repchi, but eventually it was easier to just name them all the same thing.
