Born among the ashes of the Ashfall Waste, this child's scales fit right in to the clouds of smoke that billowed across the fiery lands. Adventurous, she chose to flit across the terrain, taking in the turmoil that her flight created upon the land. In this journey however, she flew too close to a geyser and as a result earned herself a face-full of molten lava. Injured, she was forced to walk her way across the land, narrowly avoiding more collisions with the geysers and canyons that would have surely spelled her doom. In the midst of the night after weeks of travel, the young dragon stumbled onto the Windswept Plateau and into the midst of a clan who were migrating from the Southern Icefields.
Taken under the wings of the elder imperials of the clan, the child was healed to the best of their ability, though she had lost most of her vision and ability to speak clearly. Left bitter by her accident in the Wastes, the child decided to remain with those who had shown her kindness when her own flight chose not to. Devoted to Torrentialth, the hatchling adopted her as a surrogate mother. Choosing the name Mare, which means bitter, the child grew skilled in the art of darkness and night. Growing swiftly, she found that the stars were less harsh to her already failing eyes, and chose thus to take more night-time rotations with the guards. Learning to fight from some of the best warriors in the clan, she's made a niche for herself as a silent striker, appearing from the darkest shadows to spell doom for any would be intruders. Since she has a hard time speaking where others can understand her, she'll often steal something of theirs to make her point. Though she never truly intended to have a mate, she found herself entwined with the spiral named Laghymn due to his nocturnal nature and his ability to hide in the shadows with her. The pair often did patrol missions together before becoming mates. This situation works out well for her, as he can often understand what she wants, and will often speak in her place.
