Buttercup's main role in the clan is as a hunter and protector; their specialty area is the Mire, where they know every enemy and how to bring about a quick end. Their ferocity towards the beastclans is contrary to their usual nature, as they are very much the sweetheart of the clan. Since they were taken in as an abandoned hatchling, most of the older dragons consider them as if they hatched from one of their own eggs. They have a habit of gently nipping at those in seniority to them, as a way of showing their hard earned adoration.

They're a little conceited because of their wondrous faceted gold wings, yet those very wings make it impossible for them to fly; the wings are much too heavy for the weight to be cancelled out by the lift they generate, so Buttercup has not left the ground since they received them. For all their wings are worth, they do aid them greatly in the Mire, where they hunt, as the wings more easily break through the foliage around them as they sprint.

On one of their outings they were caught in the path of a great forest fire. They sustained a few injuries in their extremities but with their Arcane heritage they found they were able to magick the burns as harmless to their health. Now they bear the marks that seem as though their skin is still searing, the edges of the burn flaring with soft light like embers in a dying fire.
