Penumbra

First ever unhatched egg from the Coliseum, found and hatched on the first day of Trickmurk Circus 2015.

Rescued as an egg from the depths of a forgotten cave, Penumbra is a mystery. His origins and lineage remain unknown. Twitter, the clan matriarch, was greatly impressed by his discovery at the very beginning of Trickmurk and declared that he is a sign of favor from the Shadowbinder herself.

Jetfire, who discovered him, and his mate Dizzy, herself a Shadow dragon, are particularly fond of Penumbra and regard him almost as an adoptive son.

A mischievous and fun-loving dragon, Penumbra is usually hard to find unless he's playing a trick on someone. He's eager to help, though, and has lent his assistance in laying various magical traps throughout the clan's territory to ensnare anyone who would wish them harm. He also assists Iris in caretaking the back end of the lair. He's a fair hand at alchemy, and has put together a bag of tricks that has been quite useful in keeping out intruders... as well as for other things. Who knows how many loaded dice he keeps in that pouch?

The sun is just peeking over the horizon. The longest night of the year is finally over, and all the excitement of the last two weeks is fading as the light grows stronger. It is still cold, and a mirror's breath plumes in the icy air as he makes his way along. He instinctively keeps to the long shadows, staying hidden even though there is no need for stealth. He is carrying something with him, but it is hard to see what under all his layers of fancy dress and Shadow magic.





"Ah, good morning friends!" he calls out as he approached your lair. "I thought you might like to visit a little after the hustle and bustle of the glorious Night. What a time it's been! So many monsters fought, so much new apparel, so many new friends... so many chests opened! That's the exciting part, of course. The thrill of finding them! Of opening them, and perhaps finding something wonderful. It's too bad there are no more to be found, but perhaps..." the mirror gives a toothy grin as he produces a Strange Chest and sets it down at the entrance to your lair with a flourish. "There is time for one more gamble! One last roll of the dice. Good luck!"
