Yolo has no memory of who he was before he came to wake in the scarred wastelands. All he remembered was a vague feeling, a memory of a looming deity, a searing pain, a bright light, and then nothing. He didn't linger on the loss of his old life for long, clearly the Plaguemother gave him a new start for a reason. And so he began to wander, eventually finding a young mirror his age. She said she too had no memory of who she was before, only a burning desire to serve the Plaguemother. Her name was Zalas, and Yolo fell for her quickly.

The two wandered for a time, until they came across what would be Cartico Valley. The place was barren, but something in the earth called to the two, humming through their bones, and so they stopped and stayed. Over time, a small clan began to form, wandering dragons joining the two. Eventually, Zalas left, the BeastClans had begun advancing on the WyrmWound, and Zalas wanted to leave to fight for the PlagueMother. Yolo gave her his blessing, and watched her leave. He mourned her memory for a time, and then moved on, knowing that the choice was hers to make.

Yolo soon became the leader of the growing Cartico Clan, a playful and benevolent leader, anyone who wished to be a part of the clan was welcome to stay, there was no discrimination based on flight or species. One day, a feisty mirror was dragged in, having attacked one of the clan's patrols. She looked starved and her entire attitude gave away how desperate she was, surely having had wandered the scarred wastelands alone for a time. Instead of punishing her, Yolo extended a hand and offered her a home.

Grimes, the mirror that Yolo took in, was only a bit younger than Yolo himself, and though abrasive and hostile in the beginning, the two soon became fast friends, and later more. The two quickly became sickeningly devoted to each other, Grimes being the cautious, savage protector for the clan's sometimes too trusting leader.

Yolo led the clan alone for a long time, but no good things last forever, and as time went by the clan found themselves in danger of recently advancing beastclan tribes. Yolo tried to protect the clan, but day after day the beastclans numbers grew and the clan's shrank as dragons were picked off and killed one by one. Eventually Yolo made the decision to move his clan, many were outraged, even though their home was no longer safe how could they possibly leave the Scarred Wastelands? They had devoted their lives to the PlagueBringer and this ravine.

Thankfully, before the clan could be fully wiped out, Yolo had managed to get the support of everyone and the clan moved. No longer able to lead, since he knew he would always only be loyal to his deity the Plaguemother, Yolo hatched an abandoned shadow egg he had found long ago in the hewn city, raising the hatchling as his own and, once the clan had settled in their new home, appointing her leader.

He now lives as a normal civilian in the clan, though he of course is often advising Vetrius on what to do as clan leader when she came to him for help.
