They day she was born, I married my best friend and the love of my life.

We met online; both of us were members of a role-play forum called Sins of Impunity. It was like, a supernatural-themed vampire/werewolves/etc kind of role-play. One day, I just joined one of his threads and we started RPing, then we started chatting . . . At the time, he was actually engaged and planning to marry someone else. Due to, uh, extraneous circumstances they ended up breaking up the engagement.

There was never really a "let's date" moment. He didn't really ask me out, and I didn't really ask him out, either. He asked me if I had a Valentine for February 14th, I said no and he declared that he didn't have one either and I suppose that right there was kind of us deciding to get together. It wasn't really official, however, until he was telling me a story about his boys at home.

I asked, "What do you refer to me as when you talk about me to your friends?"

He replied, "Well . . . I've kind of just been calling you my girlfriend."

So I said, "Oh ok I'll call you my boyfriend then."

And the rest was history. He lived in Florida, I lived in Colorado, so we arranged a few meetings and then when he graduated from college, he moved to Colorado with me. Eventually, we moved to Florida and then a couple of days later we eloped and were married at the courthouse in town. That was four years ago now and we have a beautiful baby girl.
