Mate

Sigyn, known to be compassionate and sensible yet strong willed, at first seems to be a near complete opposite of Loptr. The two met whilst they were both on the instinctual Search of their species, and took each other as their own Charges. They are equally stubborn, which becomes a drawback, as both Loptr and Sigyn are fairly set in their ways.

Son

Vali is Loptr and Sigyn’s firstborn son, and he takes particular interest in the natural fauna that is found throughout Sornieth. Vali left the relative safety of the lair whilst he was still young, and made a new home with a pack of particularly large Gale Wolves. He is the elder brother to Narfi, whom he was tricked into killing during a squabble with the clan lead by Tyr.

Son

Narfi had a relatively short life. He was born just before the clan split and devolved into a vicious war between many factions, and unfortunately he did not live to see the resolve of this.

Cousin

Lóður, a spiral with an itch to travel and see the world is a distant cousin of Loptr's.
Their bonds were formed over many years of travelling and adventure, and view each other as brothers. However, frequently struck by a wanderlust Lóður eventually left Loptr to travel on his own, and was not seen again or even heard from for many a year.

Blood Brother

Hveðrungr is Loptr's blood brother, and they met by chance. Hveðrungr and his mate had recently left the rough and lawless territories of the Canyon, and set up a small temporary lair amongst the trees of the Iron Woods. Little did they know that this was an area Loptr hunted in during the warm seasons, yet rather than a vicious squabble between the three dragons Hveðrungr and Loptr immediately got along, and caused chaos for dragons in surrounding territories.

“Whimsical, fey, flighty, and loyal are the first things to come to mind when One remembers Loptr. Others are reckless, arrogant, disorganised and mischievous. His tale is a tall one, and his deeds many- so gather round, all, whilst we begin.

‘Twas said he hailed from a Great Expanse of sun etched plains, born from a single Wildfire- quick lived and quick spread. Like a Wildfire, he, too spread his will quickly throughout the Realm and left a mark upon it; lasting longer than he himself. The one thing for certain was that Loptr; the Fleet Footed, the Sky Walker the Wind Willed- was mute upon beginnings. Mute in spirit, colour, courage and sound.

In his first years Loptr blended into the shadows, slipping into them with as much ease as a great Wyrm's maw snapping up a gnat. Many fables he heard, and many more he made- but those are not Our Story.”

“You ask- what is our story? Where does it begin, if not The Beginning? Our story, as all do, begins with a True Beginning, one not burdened or harsh on the mind- one flowing, free and lively. Our story- True as it is- begins with a Murder, a Theft and a Betrayal most Foul.

As a Wandering Spirit, Loptr attracted like minded souls. None so enchanting or quick witted as the Wise One Eye. His true name lost, this One Eye is known by whispers- none real, but all identifying. Hárbarðr. Woðan. Bölverkr. Gangari. Many names for many faces, but all point to the same deeds. The deed in particular was a betrayal of the Sacred bonds of Brotherhood- formed so strong yet broken oh so easily. Hárbarðr, you see, was as sly and as loose moralled as Loptr. They hit off quickly and sowed many an oat in clans they passed, uncaring to the Chaos they left in their wake. Their Brotherhood was fated and sure, trialed and tested- so what, you ask, went wrong?

Ottar.
Ottar, and Cursed Gold.

A bet was placed, and an Innocent killed. Killed through ignorance, and by Loptr’s Claw. Killed through a set up, by Hárbarðr’s Ploy. Wergeld was demanded by Ottar’s Kin, as caught- and bound even- they had been.

Hárbarðr suggested ‘Loptr, a cave you may seek- gold enough to satisfy those you wronged. A cave guarded, but rich and near’
‘You doubt me, brother? I know of this, and would but go myself if you had not blundered.’
‘Nay Loptr, you shall have no more help, for twas you who killed- though I must ask, a Runed Ring; I seek that, and bring it you shall- be you skilled.’

It is not shared what happened within that cave. Lost in time perhaps, or importance or even lost in memory- but to progress know this: Succeed did Loptr, but not without unwittingly setting the sight of something Cursed, something Greater, in their path.

This Greater thing is not something to be Named, for Names are Power and Power is Exploitable. But know this, the Greater One watches, and waits, eternally.

Returning to our Betrayal and Stolen Treasures, the Wergeld complete Loptr returned to the Wronged Ones Kin, to find a worse deed. Hárbarðr, now hidden, had released a Charm most foul and the Kin strewn dead, lifeless as husks.

‘The Ring now, Loptr, and you may let live.’
‘The Ring, and the rest, and your life shall remain.’
‘The Ring, and your continued silence, and your life will meekly continue.’
‘We are Brothers, are we not? Brothers if not by true blood, by Bloods Bond. Brothers, forged through trial and fire. Listen to your Brother, mute Loptr, and no more harm will be done.’

What Loptr did next is changed every time. Whether he left, whether he fought; one thing remained true. The Great Cursed One was released, upon Hárbarðr gaining the Ring.

Our story comes to a close now, little ones- but know this; Curses can be Reduced, Darkness can be Pierced, and Betrayal is Betrayal, no matter how deep it cuts. Hárbarðr is cursed, and remains to this day- living eternally and not at all in the same breath; the Rings warped curse. It is said Loptr shone truly in the place of Ottar’s Kin, entering the scene dulled and mute; then leaving bright, victorious and scarred.

All the lore. Literally all of it. Like the juicy stuff of first, how he came to the lair, how he wandered off and met first Hve and then wandered off some more with him, became blood brothers after getting drunk one night, at first how he refused to go on The Search, but eventually gives into its call and meets Sigyn who was also on her Search, how they claim each other as their charges and the complications it brings as he is the main "getting stuff done" coli dragon, info on their kids etc, his cousin comes back after a long journey and so blah blah, how the lair begins to grow and factions are formed and eventually other leaders emerge and head off their own sub lair, loss of his second son due to this fighting (soz Narfi, you're auto exalted I guess) dispute with mate, then wrap it all up for modern day yeesh this is gonna be horrible to get around to writing

Explain his drastic cosmetic surgery as something that happened during the search? Was it an accident? Magic gone wrong? Actual plastic surgery? A gift from bossdad? Or was he really dirty all the time and took a bath and lost all the gross "mud" (mud as in genes) in the process? Who knows
